🌿 the sifler Privacy Promise

Hi there! We built the sifler to help you feel less overwhelmed and more connected to the ideas that actually matter to you. To do that, we need to handle some of your information, but we believe you should always be in the driver’s seat.

1. What We Collect (And Why)

• Your Identity: When you sign in with Google or with an email address, we see your name and email. This is just so we know which "sifls" belong to you.
• Your Connections: If you choose to connect Notion, we store your API key (encrypted, of course!) and your Database ID so we can send your summaries directly to your workspace.
• Your Sifls: We process the URLs and documents you save to create those beautiful, AI-generated summaries and images.
• App Analytics (Opt-in Only!): In our iOS and web apps, we use Firebase Analytics to see which features are working and which aren't. This is completely optional. You’ll be asked to opt-in, and you can change your mind in the settings at any time.

2. How We Protect You

• Top-Tier Encryption: Your Notion API keys are locked away using AES-256 encryption. We can’t read them, and neither can anyone else.
• No Selling Data: Your interests are your own. We will never sell your data or your sifling history to advertisers.
• Data Sovereignty: We use servers hosted in data centres in Western Europe to minimise your data sovereignty risks.

3. Your Rights

You own your data. You can view, edit, or delete your profiles and your entire account whenever you like. If you want to leave, we won’t make it hard. And we can provide your sifling history to you in .csv format upon request.

By using the sifler, you’re joining a community dedicated to conscious consumption. Here’s how we work together:

1. Our Part of the Deal

We provide the tools to scrape, summarise, and categorise the content you love using advanced AI and bespoke web scraping and document extraction tools. We promise to keep working to make these tools more reliable and useful every day.

2. Your Part of the Deal

Be a Good Human: Please don't use the sifler to scrape private data or break the law.

Respect the "Anti-Social" Goal: We built this to get you off addictive algorithms and into your own interests. Use it to grow!

No Social Media Rabbit Holes: We actually block sifling most social media links because we want to help you stay focused on deeper content.

3. The "Fine Print" Made Simple

• AI is Amazing (but not Perfect): While we use the best tech available (like Google Gemini), AI can sometimes "hallucinate" or get a summary slightly wrong. Always double-check critical info!
• Service Dependencies: We rely on friends like Google and Notion to work. If they have a "bad day" and go down, we might be a bit slow, too.
• Beta Features: Some of our tools (like the Android app or some Scrapetta functions) are still in the lab. Thanks for being an early adopter and helping us test!.
• AI is Expensive: Providing summarisation services for many users might become prohibitive. We reserve the right to pause or throttle sifling and to switch AI models (when needed) to manage usage limits.

4. Say G'day
